WAIT WAIT & WAIT!!!
We are still waiting on our Travel Approval (TA)!! It is due any time now. We are going into our 7 th week of waiting. I met with our agency and reviewed all of the documents we need to take to make sure we have all documents copied and the originals we need to take to China. There are some we will not have until our TA arrives. We are packed and ready to go for the past 2 weeks. I have a few last minute things to add, but not many! I feel we are less likely to forget something important by packing early. Keaton's nursery is ready, car seat in the car, suitcases packed and now we just have to sit back and HURRY UP AND WAIT!!!!

Nursery is coming along!

Keaton's nursery is almost finished. Waiting on curtains, safari crib set and his Dad to FINISH THE TRIMWORK!!! ASAP!! Kevin did put his car seat in the car today, and said it is not to be removed until he does not require it any longer!! Pain in the rear to put in place. We were told that by my Aunt and Uncle who gave it us. You were right Robbie and Susan. IT AIN'T MOVIN' UNTIL THE CHILD OUTGROWS IT! HA-HA

Sent a care package to Keaton today!!!
We sent Keaton a care package today. He will get some PJ's, a blanket, a toy and the staff at the orphange will get some treats! They will also receive a camera to take some pictures and we will hopefully get some updates. Ann will interpret a letter we wrote in Chinese so the orphange can answer some questions and given Keaton our love. Thanks to Ann at The Red Thread! She has been great communicating with me about her services, and other families have been greatly pleased. No guarantees on updates or pictures of Keaton, but we can hope and pray!

Packing for China
We are waiting any day now for our travel approval (TA). We have washed all of his new clothes, even ironed a few, and started packing all of his things. Pressed and packed mine as well. Kevin will start packing his soon. I am continuously adding to a list of things that need to be purchased and add. So afraid we will forget something important. I did however forget to buy baby prunes today after starting towards them in Wal-mart. I have to remember these as I have heard they are not available in China and if we do not pack them we will regret it!!!!! I am sure I got sidetracked for something completely different, or something I did not need to buy today. The nursery is coming along. Babies R Us trip too! New wall art with the safari theme hung on Keaton's wall today.
More to come........

Getting Keaton's nursery ready!

We have been planning to prepare our baby's nursery for about 3 1/2 years now. We thought we would get a girl the entire time, and an then got a referral for a boy! Our referral for Keaton has changed everything. We fell in love with this little boy's picture immediately!! Our nursery ideas did a complete turn around. We made quilts by hand for twin beds a few years ago we thought would go for either sex, but reality set in they are too girly for this little boy. We have his furniture in place since last week, and now I am preparing to decorate with a Safari theme. I will post a few pictures now and when the room is complete I will post updates. We have started packing his suitcase to leave for China. Toys, feeding supplies, books, medicines, gifts for orphanage staff, and washing his clothes to pack. Starting early so we make sure we do not forget anything. (I hope!)

Many ask "How did you choose China?"

We were married 2-7-2004 and our original wedding date was 2-14-2004. My grandmother wanted us to change the date so she could go on a trip to Beijing, China. The trip itinerary looked fun so we decided to change the date and go on our Honeymoon with 88 retirees!!!! Many of our friends and some family do not realize we had vow renewal in Beijing at the Rosedale Hotel in the lobby at 7 AM on 2-14-2004 in our tourist clothes. When we decided to adopt we had to go back to China! A very mini wedding and now our first child in China!! So you can see China is a very special in our history together. A big thanks goes out to my friend Lisa who shared information about adopting from China, and our process started immediately!
