Keaton's first Halloween while camping!

Keaton enjoying his first camping trip in Chattanooga TN. Pics are of Keaton & fellow camping rally friends in the background. We had 24 camper loads of families at this rally, and we all have been camping for a few years together at rallies. They had been hearing about our China adoption since our first trip in 2008, and now everyone got a chance to meet Keaton! Looking forward to many, many , many more exciting camping adventures with Keaton as he grows up!

Keaton is enjoying his Day Care time!

Keaton is enjoying his time at Day Care each day! He does not even cry much when I drop him off as he has figured out he will have fun and Mommy will be back. Keaton is learning so much as the facility focuses on education and not babysitting. He does not want us to feed him anymore and wants to sit at his little table at home instead of the booster chair like he does at school ( I tell him he is going to school). MR. INDEPENDENT!!! He is taking an earlier nap and going to bed earlier, and this is very good for when I return to work for all of our schedules! I am able to do some needed chores around the house this week while he is there. We are also preparing the camper for Keaton's first camping trip and it is also the Fall camping rally for the Southeastern Family Campers that we try to attend each year. He will do Trick or Treating camper to camper in his lion costume! You can see him in that outfit in a prior post.

Interesting medical update!!!

We went for the Craniofacial/Palate Team and International Adoption appointments this week at MUSC in Charleston SC. The teams were both great! We found out Keaton already had his palate repair in China which is why the remaining hole for the hard palate was so small. This will not be repaired until he grows and develops over the next few years! YEAH!!!! We got no record of this surgery, but suspected something had been done ourselves with no proof! The MD's confirmed it and no extensive surgery required at this time.

He does have some kind of issue with his hearing as a result of his Audiology test. There is alot of wax and possibly fluid behind his ear drum which is the probably and HOPEFULLY the cause. He will have tubes placed in his ears, wax removal and another audiology test in a few weeks while under anesthesia to determine what exactly is going on there! We need prayers it is very minor. Keaton does not seem to have any issues hearing us , but the concern is hearing certain tones that effect speech development. Tubes are placed in most or many palate patients, and it is a simple and easy procedure.

The overall evaluation of Keaton was great! He is developmentally on target , and fine motor skills are very good. We are so greatful he does not have any major surgery needs for a few years. We just have to see how he grows and develops before the next surgeries in life he may require will be determined! I hope and pray they will be minor and by the time he needs anything the advancements in technology will make them easy and less invasive.

Keaton's first trip to the beach today! He really enjoyed watching all of the dogs play and run more than the water. I have a feeling if we had more time and he had some sand toys he would have enjoyed the experience much more. We only had a brief time to visit since we were mainly in Charleston for his medical appointments.

First Birthday Party Invite!

Keaton went to his first Birthday Party for his friend Noah! He dressed up as a lion, and he knows how to ROAARRR! He was so cute in his Halloween costume! Practicing for the Halloween in a few weeks.

Keaton starting Day Care for an hour a day!

Keaton is doing great! He went to church Sunday and stayed in the nursery with out any real crying (for about 20 secs until the caregiver started to show him a toy), and was happy to see us when we returned. We are starting him out for an hour per day at the day care. His first day went well, though he cried when the caregiver went out of his site to change the other babies diapers. She could see the babies but they could not see her as easily due to being too short the way the room is set up. I came back about the time he started to get upset so he found his Mom! He came right to me like I am ready to go now, and blew kisses to the kids to say BYE! We will see how today goes. I have to get him use to going as he will have surgery soon and there will be several days he will not be able to go and then I will be returning to work so we have to start now unfortunately. Pray our house sells and he will only have to go for a few days at the most instead of M-F so his Dad can work on the next house. Grandma Dee Dee and Great Grandma- Mima are coming for a few days to visit today! Keaton loves to get on Skype at night to see Dee Dee and BaBa. I will have to get some new pics over the next few days to post. I have been lax with taking them lately, and when I do they are action shots with the Blackberry and they do not turn out well. More to come!

Keaton adjusting well!

We have been home now for almost 2 weeks, and Keaton is adjusting very well. He loves animals and loves to try and pet the dog Gertie Mae! She is learning to tolerate him especially when he is giving her a treat! We may take him to the Zoo tomorrow. He absolutely loves to see animals on TV and in person. He is finally on a good schedule and sleeping all night ! Keaton has been enjoying meeting all of his extended family and cousins. He went for his first Pediatrician visit yesterday and got a few vaccines! BOO! He cried for a minute and then he was OK! Keaton loves food like the rest of his new family and eats anything he tries so far. He does not seem to be picky about food except if it is too cold at first, however he does love ICE CREAM! I have some other pictures, but they have not been loaded into the computer for me to post as of yet! I do not know how to do it so when DADDY gets a minute after work I will add some new ones. Our internet service was down for 2 days this week so this hindered some of our time to post updates! SORRY! I know there are many of our followers who want to wake up and see new pics daily! That is why there are no recent ones! We will post some more pics soon. Here is one I managed to figure out how to load. This is Keaton and his cousin Chapman! They had a ball playing together.
