Weekend with Grandma Dee Dee & Grandpa BaBa

Many cute pics captured this weekend by Grandma Dee Dee! Keaton coloring at the pizza restaurant, playing at the park, watching the Super Saturday parade with Mommy, pics in my cute outfit and hat, & a few pics being silly bathing(teenage blackmail when he starts dating) and getting ready for bedtime in my PJ's!

Fun Sunday at the park!

Keaton had a fun time at the park Sunday after a picnic he and Poppa and Mamma enjoyed the playground. I tried to get a pic of Keaton's cute outfit with his hat, but only managed to get a cute pic of his hat just after getting him dressed with his jacket on. He did keep his hat on longer than he usually does today! He only wore it because we made a big deal about it and so did everyone at church. He does not like to wear a hat! We bought him several cute hats to take to China last year since we were told to make sure we had a hat on our child's head over there. He did not wear even one of them during our trip! Maybe he will this year when we go bring Kanah home. I will certainly pack them again like a good mother! LOL

Learning to sip through a straw!

Keaton went to his drawer in the kitchen and put together his frog up that he had never been given to use yet since it had a straw. I saw him walking around the den as if he knew how to sip through the straw so I put some water in the cup and replaced the lid to see what he could do, and he DID IT!! This is a great milestone for a child with cleft palate issues! GO KEATON!

Dossier to China for Kanah!

DTC ( Dossier to China) !! Our second Dossier is heading for China after a short stop in CA at our agency's home office for final review tomorrow! We are a grandfathered I 600 A family so our old dossier was from 2007 and needed to be updated since our referral was a child on a shared list less than 60 days. One step closer to Kanah!! New LID ( Log in date), then LOA (Letter of Acceptance) and then TA (Travel Approval) are our next steps, so pray they all come quickly! Still projected travel hopefully May or June.

Keaton completes a whole Mexican meal!

We took Keaton to lunch last weekend and he devoured an entire Mexican enchilada meal that we anticipated helping him eat! My child has always has such a great appetite, but this was quite a plate of food!

New updates and pics of Kanah!

Kanah is starting to stand it looks like with assistance, growing a few sprigs of hair, and they managed to get a slight smile & hand wave. I was persistent about getting pics so it looks as though they got him and took a few yesterday on the spot since I requested them again yesterday! His weight is now 19.8 lbs at 16 1/2 months old. We knew he had not had any surgery, and his forever family will be there for him as he goes through the cleft lip/palate repairs when we return home this Summer. MUSC in Charleston, SC is starting to be a regular place to visit. We have been most pleased with the International Adoption and Palate teams.

Keaton and his doggie Gertie Mae have a love hate relationship at times, but lately they have been sharing the new double stroller seats for walks in the park, and bath time tonight! Little do they both know the front seat of the stroller is for little brother Kanah! The Gert has come a long way since Keaton came home, and loves him most when he has treats to share. She will be 6 years old this week, and in a few short months she will be sharing the household with yet another toddler under the age of 2 years old! Keaton loves his doggie!
