Update on Kanah!

We sent a care package by the Red Thread earlier this month and due to the Chinese New Year there was a delay in sending the package and getting information since everyone in China took vacation time with family. I will share his care package picture and hope to have new pictures of Kanah soon! The orphanage staff are all getting back to work and busy catching up so I know they have more important priorities.We did find out Kanah has not had any lip or palate surgery, and is not yet walking or talking yet. This may just be because of nutritional delays due to no surgery intervention so far or just normal for this child since these activities vary form child to child. He turned 16 months old last Friday 2-11-11. Stay tuned and everyone pray his is safe and cared for while he waits to come home! We also need prayers that the CCAA (China Center of Adoption Affairs) will consider our request for bringing him home quickly! We are sending a letter from the doctors that reviewed his file to request a speedy travel to Kanah due to medical needs. FYI there are NO guarantees the letter will push things along at all , but it is worth a shot. Stay tuned!

Fun at the beach last week!

We enjoyed spending the weekend at the beach last week to celebrate Kevin & Dads birthday and our 7th Wedding Anniversary. Here are some cute pics from the weekend. Keaton enjoyed picking up shells and playing at the arcade. We are still waiting for some updated pics of Kanah to post soon. The Chinese New year delayed our care package and request by the Red Thread, but we are assured we should hear something soon. Kanah turned 16 months old 2-11-11. We can not wait to have him home with his forever family & play with his brother Keaton! Stay tuned.

A nice picnic at the park & PA ( Pre-Approval) TODAY!!

We went to church and then to the park for a picnic and good long walk!! Much needed since it has been so cold and snowy lately! We then met with our social worker for Keaton's 6 month update.

We got exciting news that our PA (Pre-Approval) arrived also today! We unfortunately will have to wait for a new LID (LOG IN DATE) before we get out LOA (letter of acceptance). We understand this and will travel when our TA (travel approval) sent near Summer we hope. Three more documents to go so everyone pray they come quickly so we can all get to baby Kanah!

Keaton is getting a brother!

It's another boy! Keaton is getting a brother from China! His name will be Kanah Summers Baowei.

He is now 15 months old and will be home by Summer. Here is his referral pic, but is is about 6 months old so stay tuned for some current pics soon! ARE WE NUTS WITH 2 TWO YEAR OLDS AT ONCE?? I have been holding off on posting anything for a while until I knew we had a referral and this big news!!

Keaton's second big snow!

Keaton enjoyed only for a brief time playing in the snow today. We got around 6 to 8 inches of snow, and it was our second significant snow of the Winter. We do not see to many snows in our area until recent years. It is fun to play in and have a day or 2 off from work!

Keaton put on Mommy's shoes and though it was funny to walk in them! He had 2 different tennis shoes on. He is a hoot!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year's! We are starting off by joining our new church today, and trying to get back into the habit of our daily walk at the park ( so cold today that the walk today was only 15 minutes)! We hope to have Keaton dedicated in early February. We also hope to announce in the upcoming months that Keaton will be getting a new brother or sister from China! We are planning to start the process again very soon! Looks like 2010 & 2011 may be our exciting years for adding new family members! We hope everyone has a great 2011, and continues to stay tuned to our blog!
