Kanah is doing great healing from cleft lip repair surgery last week. He has adjusted to his no-no's well, and holds his arms out to put them back on now after his breaks with them off. He has reverted back since surgery to his behavior on the first few days after his adoption. I have had to hold him constantly or he has a fit! These are better each day and so far this morning he is playing and no fits! He slept better last night with only one episode of a crying fit. I coaxed him back to sleep in his crib at 1 am, and he slept until 715 am. The good thing is these episodes are getting better, and hopefully by the end of the week we will back on track as pre-surgery. This poor fellow has had a wild month of August with a new family, new home, and surgery! He is doing amazing with eating, walking, and motor skill development as seen with playing with his toys.
Hang in there...those first few days after surgery are so hard for everyone. He looks great and I love love love the new blog pix...brotherly love for sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracey! I hope he is much more adjusted to everything by the time the palate repair surgery is scheduled in a few months. It is a more involved surgery, and also a longer recovery from what I have heard.
